On December 17, the U.S. Senate passed an amended version of the America COMPETES Reauthorization Act of 2010 (H.R.5116) by unanimous consent.  Four days later the House of Representatives voted 228 to 130 to approve the legislation and on Janauary 4, President Obama signed the bill into law.  The legislation passed by Congress is an authorization, not an appropriation, meaning that Congress will separately need to pass legislation to fund the bill.  More information about late December action on the America COMPETES Reauthorization Act of 2010 can be found at...
